Saturday, August 21st:
Arrive in Kullu, transport to Manali
Airport transport from the Kullu Airport to the outdoor recreation capital of India! Take a rest, walk the streets Welcome Dinner this Evening.
Sunday, August 22nd:
Rest Day in Manali, Bike Familiarization, Day Ride
Meet your Royal Enfield and ride around Manali. Get used to riding in India! Join our guide for a short day ride out of town! Shop, walk the streets, relax and sleep off the time change!
Monday, August 23rd:
Manali to Shoja - 110 km
Ride south out of Manali, before veering onto a country road. No one can prepare you for the exhilaration of the traffic in India, nor the spectacular forest scenery! Clear flowing mountains streams cascade through lush pine forests.

Tuesday, August 24th:
Shoja to Sarahan - 130 km
Climb to nearly 10,000 feet over scenic Jalori Pass (3,220m) before riding on to Sarahan. Stunning mountains scenery abounds. Check out the historic temple at Bhimakali, from the 12th Century!
Wednesday, August 25th:
Sarahan to Recong Peo - 110 km
Ride the amazing mountain road as it winds its way along steep cliffs under the shadow of glacial peaks. Impossible to describe!

Thurday, August 26th:
Recong Peo to Nako - 120 km
Apply for an Inner Line Permit in the morning, and ride an incredible mountain road the rest of the day. Steep canyon walls surround you as you make your way to the small pastoral town of Nako. Watch the locals continue their age-old herding lifestyle. Marvel at the mountain scenery in this quaint Bhoti village.
Firday, August 27th:
Nako to Kaza - 130 km
Ride through spectacular mountain scenery all day long!! Traffic will be seldom, and the breathtaking scenery will overwhelm you. Stay at Kaza, home to the worlds’ highest gas station!
Saturday, August 28th:
Rest Day Kaza - 50 km
Take a day to check out the Market in Kaza, and ride out to scenic Ki Gompa, with is stunning views or visit the historic salt town of Kibber, high in the Himalayas.
Sunday, August 29th:
Kaza to Chattru (Camp) - 140 km
Ride over stunning Kunzum Pass (4,551m). Venture into the remote world of the Himalayas this day! Cathedral-like mountain scenery all around…

Monday, August 30th:
Chattru to Keylong - 100 km
Ride the remote Chandra River Valley to Keylong. Enjoy mountain vistas and challenging road surfaces all the way to Keylong. Explore Keylong in the afternoon.

Tuesday, August 31st:
Keylong to Sarchu - 80 km
When you think the scenery can’t get any better, you find yourself and the comfortable camp at Sarchu. Crest Baralacha Pass (4,950m) this day, and find yourself in heart of the Himalayas!

Wednesday, Septemer 1st:
Sarchu to Lachalung Pass to Jispa - 115 km
Ride to the highest point of Lachalung Pass (5,065m) before returning back to Jispa. You will be at the top of the world today!

Thursday, September 2nd:
Jispa to Manali - 130 km
Though the last day of riding of the trip, certainly this day is not to be forgotten, as we go over epic Rohtang Pass (3,975m) before dropping into Manali. Turn in bikes and Farewell Dinner.

Farewell day
Airport transfer to Kullu.

This is the toughest, most demanding tour we offer. Prudhoe Bay is a cakewalk, compared to this. Do not ride the Indian Himalayas without understanding the nature of what you are signing up for. This tour is difficult, and not for everybody.

Travel Tip:
We highly recommend that you spend at least one more day in Manali before flying home. We will be happy to arrange any extra hotel accommodations for you! Manali is a wonderful town with much to do. We are sure you would like to spend an extra day exploring this area.
Optional Kitty:
No Kitty is needed for our Indian Himalaya Adventure. All expenses are included in the tour price: all food, gas, ect. Bring money for libation.
Money:
All meals and gas are included in the tour price! Allow enough money to pay for alcohol, snacks and gifts. You should be fine with $500, unless you want to do some shopping.
ATMs: available in Manali and Rampur only. Have enough rupees to cover the entire tour by the time you leave Manali. Visa Plus System ATM Cards work. You may also change US$ in Manali.
*If bringing US Cash, please have clean bills with no marks or tears in them.
Visa:
Visas are obligatory for citizens of the United States and Canada. Please check for you own country.
Always bring at least two passport photos with you when you travel internationally.
India Traffic:
Most of the traffic in India seems random and chaotic. There is a rhythm to it, but be prepared for the unexpected. India is not place you go to take a Sunday cruise. It more about staying aware and being able to ride you bike competently in adverse conditions.
Scenery: Stop before you try to take in the grandness of the Himalayas!
- Left Side Traffic.
- Use Horn when passing!!
- Mind the horn behind you..someone is about the pass!
- Lane splitting OK.
- Watch for cows!
- Treat every corner as if a dump truck is coming around!
- Trucks will signal you to pass them with a wave.
- 100 Himalayan Kilometers = 100 Miles of Rocky Road
- Little or no warning for road construction.
- No guard rails with over 1,000 ft drops.

Altitude
Much of the itinerary is at high altitude. Some nights will be spent above 10,000 feet. If you feel this will affect your trip to India, see a doctor and take a physical. You want to be in the best physical shape possible when on this trip.
Camping:
We will have organized camping for two of the nights. All camping equipment such as tents and sleeping pads will be provided. Food, toilet and water will be available at these camp sites.

Arrival Day:
Send us your travel information so we know when and where to meet you. Please be prepared to show your current motorcycle drivers license.
Gear:
Bring riding gear that is warm and waterproof (a riding suit with pads is best). We recommend Scorpion XDR Commander riding gear. Also bring: Stout water-proof boots, rain gear, a warm hat, rain-proof gloves (2 pair), hiking shoes, bug spray, lots of underwear, fleece layers, full-faced helmet, swim suit (if there are hot springs), and a good camera are the things you need on the trail.
