MotoQuest Tours Verdict
This dirt-oriented high-octane beast is THE bike for the adventure rider who does not mind getting a little dirty. Awesome on the tarmac, and willing to veer off to any dirt road, trail, or foot path…
Engine
The parallel twin 800 cc engine is powerful and smooth. It a cheetah on the tarmac, and gives plenty of power and stability to thrill those who like the off-road.Ride and Handling
With plenty of power and a first gear that is not afraid to go to 40mph, the F800GS does not fall short of oomph. Stable and dexterous as it glides on tarmac, nimble on the dirt….it is the bike to conquer all worlds! The seat can be a bit hard, so for those long distance tourers, a soft seat cover might be a good option.Reliablility
The parallel engine works great, and so far, we are happy with the 800GS. The only downfall we can find is that it is too tall for the general public, and, with only a 4 gallon gas tank, the range on this machine is one of the shortest. Pack your fuel with you if you decide to take this to Prudhoe Bay!Equipment
In Alaska Twisted Throttle outfits all of our newest bikes with the proper guards and accessories to make them "Alaska worthy" . The upgrades include skid plate, engine guards, center stands, hand guards, windshields, tank bags, waterproof Duffle bags, and more.Bike Spec |
