We use this all-purpose bullet-proof machine on our tours in Alaska and Canada.MotoQuest Tours Verdict
MotoQuest Tours Verdict
This is a great all around motorcycle which is easy to ride on paved surfaces, and at home in the dirt, mud and rocks. We knob up the tires, and use this as our mainstay on our tours to Prudhoe Bay. While not the best option for long stretches of pavement, it compensates with its incredible ability to cross over to the dirt with such ease it makes even the grinch smile. It is the safest and best bike we use on the Dalton Highway to the Arctic Ocean.
Engine
650cc single cylinder. The engine has been in development since the mid eighties, and is bullet proof!Ride and Handling
The KLR handles great in curves, and is a good option for commuter travel in the city. It is not the smoothest of rides, but gets the job done on pavement. But, if you are mixing a little dirt in your journey, then this is where the KLR proves itself. It is a competent dirt bike, and, with a 5.6 gallon tank, can take you up to 250 miles in the direction you want to go.Reliablility
The reliability of the KLR is great, considering the torture we put them through!Equipment
Twisted Throttle outfits all of our newest bikes with the proper guards and accessories to make them "Alaska worthy" . The upgrades include skid plate, engine guards, center stands, hand guards, windshields, tank bags, waterproof Duffle bags, and more.Bike Spec |

We would be happy to organize a tour guide for you and your son for Alaska. We can have an experienced guide take you to where you want to go, and also to all the secrets off the beaten path that most riders do not know about. Please call us at (907) 272 2777 so that we can talk details. Every custom tour is different, so a phone call would make it easier for both of us to make a great touring plan.

I'm saving some $ in order to book an Alaska tour or rental in the near future.
Thanks and safe travels!
